Why again?

File this under ‘You can’t make this sh.t up’: Suma Chakrabarti, the president-elect of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, champions democracy according to Reuters.

Does he mean the sovereign right of EU member state citizens to vote their own government and not have technocrat, unelected leaders foisted upon them by the EUnion? Well ehrm, no.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s president-elect said the bank’s role in promoting democracy through its investments would be a central focus for his term, as the EBRD agreed a 1 billion euro fund for North Africa.

Right, so not only have we here a particularly slimy specimen of EUrocrat arguing for the very democracy in North Africa and elsewhere he and his ilk are actively and insistently denying us. No, he also takes a cool BILLION of our money to spend on countries in the African Mediterranean to do it.

Remind me: Why are we not out to hang, draw and quarter them all?

  1. DP111 says:

EBRD got 1bn euros to give away to Muslim North Africa.

From where did they get this money? If from European tax payers- how come we were not given the option to say NO. How come we didnt get the option to say where it will go.

Democracy? What has democracy got to do with grand theft?
